Intended Audience: Anyone who has a bachelor's degree or is enrolled as a
Kent State University student who is interested in learning more about book
repair for Kent State University graduate credit
The goal of this workshop is to teach repair methods that are less damaging
to books, leading to preservation-oriented, archival-quality collection
maintenance. Participants will learn to determine the appropriate methods
for preserving books, repairing torn pages, tipping in loose pages,
tightening hinges, reattaching broken hinges, repairing simple spine damage,
re-casing books, binding pamphlets, and making simple phase boxes.
This workshop is worth one graduate credit! You must have a bachelor's
degree or be enrolled as a Kent State University student in order to
register for this workshop.
