Faculty Position (Assistant/Associate Professor)

Indiana University's (IU) School of Library and Information Science
(SLIS) at Bloomington invites applications for the position of
Assistant/Associate Professor. The successful candidate will hold a
doctoral degree or be close to completing one, and will contribute to
our Master of Library Science (MLS) degree program. Able researchers
with teaching interests in such areas as information services,
automation, and/or evaluation are especially encouraged to apply. 

The school's developing research agenda encompasses social and
cognitive analyses of interactions between people, organizations,
technologies and information, particularly in relation to the
development of digital libraries and the World Wide Web. SLIS
maintains good working relations with colleagues in other academic
units and is an active player in IU's Digital Library Program
(http://www.dlib.indiana.edu). Information about SLIS's faculty,

SLIS has an interdisciplinary faculty whose backgrounds include
information science, computer science, library science, linguistics,
political science, psychology, and sociology. Its faculty was recently
ranked first in North America for its scholarly productivity and
impact. In addition to the Master of Library Science degree, the
school offers the Masters of Information Science (MIS), a Ph.D. in
Information Science, and a post-master's specialization in Library and
Information Science.
