PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS

You are invited to attend to the Third Meeting on User Information Skills,
organized by Juarez University. This time the meeting will focus on
Information Literacy Standards.

As part of the event there will be other activities like the Pre-conference
workshops, where the attendants will have the opportunity to practice
different tasks related with Information Literacy Standards.

The preliminary program for the workshops is the following:

Wednesday October 9

Pre-conference Workshop I

*	Evaluation of User Information Skills programs in University
Libraries: A perspective of the Information Literacy Standards 

Abstract:
To propose the participants mechanisms for the systematic evaluation of User
Information Skills programs in University Libraries, applying international
standards, to meet the objectives they were created for.

Pre-conference Workshop II
Instructor: Martha Castro
15:00-19:00 hrs.
*	Challenges of the User Information Skills programs at libraries
faced with the Information Literacy Standards

Abstract:
The workshop’s objective is participants identify Information Literacy
Standards that User Information Skills programs require.  Also, analyze the
challenges that this implies; of such form that the supply of these programs
can be made within the corresponding standards so users acquire abilities to
locate and use the information in a precise and opportune way in their
academic task.

Registration Fees: Each one of the workshops has a cost of $50,00 (fifty
dollars). For those interested in attending both workshops, a 50% off will
be granted in the second one. The whole event has a cost of $120,00 (one
hundred twenty dollars)  All prices include tax.

Notes: 
1.	The payment can be made in dollars, or in pesos, $1 dollar = $10,00
pesos.
2.   There will be videoconference for both workshops, this will be totally
free. If you need a Diploma for your resume, you have to pay the half of the
workshop fee.  You will also receive a set of materials.
