[Asis-l] ET Chapter ASIS&T meeting

The East Tennessee Chapter of American Society for Information Science and
Technology will be holding their next meeting at the Cumberland Avenue
Copper Cellar on Monday, November 25, 2002, beginning at 6 p.m. The
meeting will follow the Info Salon format of socializing and sharing of
information-related ideas. However, we do have a special guest  - Cary
Staples an associate professor from UT's Art department and coordinator of
the school's DesignCenter.  Staples has done extensive design work with
multimedia and web interfaces and she will be available to discuss her
recently published paper on the role of information design and the design
process -- thoughts that she has gleaned from her experiences as an
instructor.

Also, there are some changes on the horizon for the local chapter that
need to be discussed - especially the future direction of the local
chapter. If you care about information, we hope you can make it.

And remember you don't have to be an ASIST member to attend. Everyone pays
for  their own dinner and drinks.  But if you'll think you'll be
attending, let us know so we can reserve adequate seating.
