Dear Colleagues in Library and Information Science,
Do you know a truly outstanding information science teacher? Why not
nominate them for the American Society for Information Science &
Technolgoy's ISI Outstanding Information Science Teacher
Award! Nominations aren't due until July 1st, so you have plenty of time
to prepare a nomination packet.
Award recipients will receive $1,000 and a certificate, to be presented at
the ASIS&T Annual Awards banquet
For even more information, please visit
http://www.asis.org/awards/teacher.htm. The recipient of the award need
not be a member of ASIS&T but must be directly engaged in teaching some
aspect of information science on a continuing basis, in an academic or a
non-academic setting. Nominees need not be associated with an educational
institution; however, teaching information science must represent a
significant work responsibility although it need not occur within the
traditional classroom. Workshops, speeches, publications, and
presentations, in addition to academic courses, can also be used to teach
information science.
Previous recipients of the award are ineligible, as are members of the
Education Committee during the year of the award.
