 Records Management courses for September 2002:

CWRM 627: Managing Electronic Records
This seminar emphasizes both the present and future roles of electronic records management.   Physical characteristics and applications of various types of computer storage media, including magnetic and optical-disk records are surveyed.  Central to the discussion is the application of conventional records management concepts to electronic records.  Methods for developing and implementing techniques in records retention, disposition, retrieval, and protection are described.

CWRM 633: Records Management
This course presents the latest techniques for managing records.  How these techniques can be applied to existing situations or used to formulate new records management programs is described.  Also discussed are methods for enhancing active and inactive records management, records retention and disposal schedule efficiency, and records center and storage facility design and operation.  The relationship between records management objectives and practices and emerging database management and office automation is emphasized.  In addition to case studies and typical operating procedures, participants' specific records management problems and concerns are addressed.
