A-LIEP and ICADL are co-located for the first time - 2 for the price of 1! Actually 3 for the price of 1 -- as the ALIRG (Asia Library & Information Research Group) Workshop will be held on Nov 16-17 at Khon Kaen Univ in the northeastern part of Thailand (URL: https://alirgworkshop2017.wixsite.com/alirg2017). Registration is free for the ALIRG Workshop Traditionally, ASIS&T AP chapter will hold a chapter meeting and reception at the A-LIEP and ICADL conferences. But I'd like to do more this year. Here's what I'm planning: 1. ? day Workshop on Graph Database Applications If you're doing research or teaching in Graph Database, Graph Mining or Graphical Visualization, please let me know and help me with this workshop! 2. This panel will explore the relation between academic writing, reading and thinking, including: * Information selection and use, and citation behavior in academic writing * Knowledge structures and argumentation in academic writing * Academic reading and thinking * Text mining, writing analytics and corpus-based analysis to support research, teaching and writing * Online resources and digital library applications to support academic writing * Academic writing in Asian languages 3.
